Our roots trace back to the wool production of the XII and XIII centuries in the area of Como, Lombardia, North Italy. This City, on the rivers of Lake Como, became famous as the best worldwide producer of silk between the XV and XVI centuries and is still recognised as a centre of excellence for the production of high quality and stylish fabrics.

Today at Camiceria di Como we produce our shirts using the same passion and care as from six centuries ago. We are proud to use traditional production methods to guarantee the very best quality garments. Likewise, we acknowledge and embrace the changing fashions and trends and are happy to offer our customers the very latest designs and cuts alongside the classical models.

Our Management team

Davide is a gifted tailor with more than a decade of experience in the creation and retail of high quality made to measure shirts.

 

He worked for several years at “Lorenzini” (probably the most exclusive producer of shirts in the world) whose shirts can be found in most prestigious boutiques of New York, Milan, Hong Kong and London (including Harrods).

 

Davide has a true passion for the ‘perfect shirt’ (he speaks much more about shirts than football or women!). He is constantly seeking new ways to improve the quality, style and comfort of our bespoke garments.

 

He is the original founder of Camiceria di Como and believes that the only way to achieve the perfect shirt is by using traditional methods of production.

Since the website was launched in 1998, customers from all over the world have been able to discover the luxury and comfort of Camiceria di Como made to measure shirts.

Francesco had previous successful experiences in the retail sector in Italy.

Being entrepreneurial, probably thank to his family that has been running businesses for generations, has been spending last 3 years looking for a retail opportunity that could promote and leverage the Italian style in the UK.

Francesco has a passion for the best made to measure shirt, suits and shoes…. and for Maserati's sport cars.

In 2007, after a long research and thanks to the expertise and enthusiasm of Davide, he launched Camiceria di Como in the UK with the aim to sell the best Italian made to measure shirts available on the market in the hope of improving the style of the nation!

 

Francesco holds an M.B.A. from CASS Business School, London (class 2004-2005) and a diploma in Managing Accounting from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

He graduated from Bocconi University, Milan with a degree in Business Administration with a major in Corporate Finance.
